 Otago artist Peta Dowle is known for her vivid depiction of iconic New Zealand imagery, particularly wildlife. She prefers to paint acrylics on board. Her love of art is matched by her passion for and extensive knowledge of New Zealand's birds, expecially the endangered species. Influential in Peta's portrayal of birds is her awareness of the role and significance birds played in Maoritanga, in an historical context.
