A Russian-born artist, based in Auckland, New Zealand, since 1994.

Anya Veryaskina has studied for 4 years at Children's Art School in Moscow, taken up art classes in Glasgow, and studied for 3 years at Whitecliffe College of Art & Design (in Auckland, NZ), from which she graduated with a Professional Diploma in Graphic Design in 1998. Having worked as a graphic designer in the publishing industry for the past 8 years, Anya is now back to painting full-time, working from her home-studio in Grey Lynn, Auckland.

Issues of intimacy and the challenges arising from them continue to be a main theme in her paintings.
