Ruth carves mainly in Oamaru stone, producing original, well finished pieces for the interior and exterior. Literally, "a piece of New Zealand".

Living in Christchurch, Ruth is inspired by the fantastic surroundings on her doorstep. When starting a new piece she is totally carried away with the excitment of it. Ruth likes to be led by the stone and follow it's different textures. You can never be quite sure what the end result is going to look like! She loves that unpredictability.
