Pamela Tapp is a Mount Maunganui based artist who loves working with abstraction, colour, texture and shape. Trying not to think out her work but rather enjoying the randomness and freedom that working in an abstract expressionism style allows.
When questioned to explain her work, Pam's response is "It is a painting - simply enjoy it for what it is, why do you have to make it into something, why does it have to be something - simply let the painting speak to you!
Pam is also passionate with black and white photography and in 2003 was a tertiary runner up in the Mighty River Power Photographic Competition.
While Pam intends to keep painting and working with photography, her future plans include moving into fabric design.
Having studied Bachelor of Media Arts at Wintec and the Diploma of Art and Creativity with the Learning Connexion, Pam has exhibited and sold work around New Zealand, including The Original Art Sale.
