Hannah Riden is a New Zealander, born in London in 1978. Her dad lives in Christchurch, and her Mum lives in Robinson's Bay, Akaroa. Hannah's studio is by the beach north of Christchurch. Hannah is entirely self-taught, and her style is realist impressionist enhanced by fresh, vibrant movement and colour. Like the Impressionists, she aims to capture colour, light and mood. She recently hosted the Prime Minister John Key at her June 2010 solo exhibition in Oxford, and was named best landscape artist at the 2008 NZ art awards in Tauranga, with the judges comment that her work was one of "the most expressive". She draws her inspiration from the breathtaking New Zealand landscape and great masters such as Sargent, Caillebotte, Turner, and Velázquez. www.hannahriden.com
