Heather Wilson is fast establishing herself on the New Zealand art scene.
Her highly textured, richly hued work has found critical and
commercial acclaim, and can be found in private and corporate
collections throughout New Zealand and overseas. Her love of bold
colour and texture is a distinctive trademark of her work.
Before starting her career as an artist in the 1990's Heather
held professional positions in the food industry having graduated from
Otago University with a double degree in food science and human
nutrition. The influence of food still comes through strongly in many
of her works.
Drawing inspiration from all aspects of life, Heather's
contemporary artworks also explore aspects of New Zealand's iconic
scenery in particular the Hawke's Bay, Wellington and the Far North.
Heather exhibits regularly at Ora Gallery in Wellington, The
Gallery at Helena Bay Hill in Northland and the Wine Country Gallery in
the Hawkes Bay. She also exhibited at Emerge Gallery for 5 years before
it closed down in February 2008. Over recent years she has held many
successful exhibitions demonstrating the growing demand for her work.
In December 2007 Heather moved from her studio/gallery in the
seaside suburb of Petone, to her studio in Taradale, Napier. Heather
will be on the Art Trail for tourists and any interested locals in
2009.
If you have any questions about Heather's work or would like to
discuss a commission, Heather would love to hear from you or see you at
her new studio in Napier.
